Duckie Brown designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver debuted their new Spring/Summer 2013 collection as creative directors for Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown, during New York Fashion Week. The duo of designers presented a collection which was inspired by and army of khaki soldiers. “We haven’t re-created Perry Ellis, we’ve invented a new men’s wear collection,” said Steven Cox and Daniel Silver backstage, “We kind of started with khaki and we just went with it, actually the original idea was like… an army of khaki soldiers.” This was a collection of 32 looks, mostly monochromatic which included every single shade of khaki you could possibly imagine from gold to pink, as well as khaki shorts, trousers, t-shirts, shirts, boxy jackets and sweaters, using fabrics like khaki, canvas, nylon, suede and cashmere. In a color palette which reminded us of the late Perry Ellis — tans, mustard, hunter green and soft pinks, with all the models walking down the runway wearing hats and neutral lace-up
