STILL IN THIS TO WIN (PART 2) Find EPISODE 7: REVERSE THE CURSE (PART 1) here: www.youtube.com The PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG team suffered a broken mast onboard PUMA’s Mar Mostro in the South Atlantic Ocean on November 21, 2011, 17 days after the start of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 from Alicante, Spain. The team was more then 2100 nautical miles from their intended destination of Cape Town, South Africa and were forced to retire from Leg 1 of the race. After motoring to the remote island of Tristan da Cunha, where the team spent six days, they were picked up by the Team Bremen – a cargo ship. PUMA’s Mar Mostro was carefully placed into an onboard cradle in a rare open sea load, and the crew and boat then traveled to Cape Town, South Africa, to join the rest of the fleet and prepare for Leg 2 of the Volvo Ocean Race.
