I second that about “western” bb creams. They are CRAP compared to Asian BB creams which are fantastic! Western BB creams are just tinted moisturizers.

My favorite is called Skin 79 (the pink one you showed in the video). I’m sure you’re going to love it! It made a huge difference to my skin! (and this is from someone who has quite problematic skin :)

This answered all questions I had about BB creams, once again thank you Wayne! I have watched a lot of YT videos on this subject & most people I have watched seem to be sheep following the rest of the flock on YT.

There are very few people on YT who have professional qualifications & experience in makeup and have the conviction of their opinions to fly in the face of the YT sheep.

Lisa Elridge & yourself are both credible & professional & I appreciate both of you very much.

Do you know of any bb creams that have shades that would match darker skin tones?? I would really like to try one but since bb creams were originally made for those with fairer skintones I can never find any that are even close to my skintone!

Word! Thank you for this video. Finally someone had the guts to say it. They ARE tinted moisturisers, and anyone that needs to cover imperfections is wasting their money.

Skin base is not available in the US- so lame.

what you will find out about the Korean 1s is that they turn grey after a while on your skin (aka oxidize) Its happened to me making me a sickly pale (which is what they want in Korea but i dont enjoy it)

I am so fair skinned and have tried numerous BB creams that are widely available, and they never match my skin. However having bought a few from various other companies across the world, they have had shades that are more suitable, even pure white (which I didn’t buy). I think if these companies are wanting to cater to a wider “audience” then they need to reconsider their shades. Light/medium and medium/deep ie orange, will not suffice. Phew, rant over, great video :)

Hey! Love your videos and you provide really good advice…but I have to say, the black background is freaking me out – you look like you are floating in space. I keep expecting little space ships or stars to streak by! x :)

@mardel3 Its a cream, so it pretty much blends with your skin. if you use asian ones which are almost white, you will get a lighter shade then your skin. Very popular bb cream by Skin79 comes in only one shade for example. The Missha ones come in more shades, but still the selection is never as wide as for foundations. Cuz its not neccesary.

The only BB cream I’ve ever seen here in the States is the Garnier one. Granted… I hadn’t even looked for them so that doesn’t mean there aren’t others available. Anyway, I did get the Garnier one because I tend to like their products even though they are quite inexpensive. But I do agree with you: BB cream = tinted moisturizer. BUT, it is a GOOD tinted moisturizer for those who like them. I’ve tried Laura Mercier, The Balm and Urban Decay tinted moisturizers and Garnier is just as good.

Thanks Wayne! I miss your cozy studio background. You look a bit like you’re floating in space with that infinite black background. I wish we could have both, i.e. the black only when you’re showing swatches, but I’m sure that would be a pain. I will get used to it I’m sure. x
