I believe in spending money on makeup brushes and a good foundation. Foundation comes in lots of different colours, textures and coverages. What matters most TO YOU are the coverage and texture. You need a texture that you like. There are amazing foundations out there in all price ranges and i have given you a list below of excellent foundations that are within most budgets. Please check them out :) With so many claims being thrown around by the cosmetics companies you would think they could preform miracles. Claims: Toning skin Firming skin Fighting spots/blemishes Light reflecting particles Wrinkle reducing The claims are endless but they have nothing to really back them up. Skin “appears” more lifted. @deltanuxkcrp They work but they’re very limited. They do change colour but the colours tend to be pinky, so not good for someone with olive or sallow or yellow-based skins. They also have very sheer coverage, so if you want fuller coverage they’re not great. If you just want a tinted-moisturizer look with a hint more tint, then they’re great.

“less claims, more colours”…THANK YOU!! I have olive skin but it’s a really weird in-between colour. In almost EVERY makeup line available to me in Barbados, one colour will be slightly too light and the next up will be slightly too dark. I almost always have to mix. Also I often find the foundations are either too pink or red, or too orange. It’s very frustrating since Mac which is quite expensive here is the only available line with a very wide range of colours, but I can’t always afford it.

I completely agree with your statement at the end, I have such pale skin finding a foundation that I like is a real mission! I still haven’t found that perfect foundation yet because if I like the texture, coverage ect it turns me orange!

Mineral powder make me itch till I want to scratch out my eyeballs. HORRIBLE. Mineral eyeshadow is fine as long as I prime my eyelids first. But mineral powders are awful for me.

I agree about the color range. For years I’ve had to custom blend foundations with white face and body to match my skin. It’s aggravating and it really limits what types of foundations I can wear.
